Mr. Frank Mwiti is the CEO of the Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc. Mr. Mwiti is a dynamic and accomplished senior business leader with more than two decades of diverse global and regional professional experience in strategy, governance, business development, Corporate Finance, M&A, investment banking, risk management and performance improvement. He has advised governments, investors, shareholders, boards and CEOs across the UK, US, EU, Russia, Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Prior to his appointment as the CEO of the Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc, he served as a Partner and Eastern Africa Markets Leader at EY, leading Strategy, M&A and Business Development across Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia and South Sudan. He previously held senior executive roles in London (UK) at UBS Investment Bank, Deutsche Bank, EY and PwC.
Mr. Mwiti equally served as CEO and Managing Director at Afrika Kapital in the UK, a firm he founded and in which he was involved in advising investment banks, private equity firms and hedge funds across forex, equities, fixed income, commodities, synthetics and listed derivatives in London, New York, Frankfurt, Singapore, Moscow, and Hong Kong.
Mr. Mwiti holds an Executive Management qualification from MIT (US), a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Nairobi and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
Mutesi Rusagara is a Rwandan professional with a strong background in finance, innovation and economic development. In June 2024, she was appointed as the state minister in charge of Resource Mobilization and Public Investment at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Rwanda. In this role, she is responsible for identifying and analyzing strategic opportunities for profit-oriented public investments to drive Rwanda's economic growth and transformation.
Before her ministerial appointment, Tesi served as the Chief Executive Officer of Agaciro Development Fund, Rwanda's sovereign wealth fund.
Hon Tesi Rusagara holds an MBA from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Business Science in Finance from the University of Cape Town.
Nandini Sukumar is the Chief Executive Officer of the World Federation of Exchanges, the global association for exchanges and CCPs. The WFE represents more than 250 exchanges and clearing houses globally, educating stakeholders on the vital role played by market infrastructures in the real economy and as a standard setter, finding the consensus on issues among the global membership. Of our members, 37% are in Asia-Pacific, 44% in EMEA and 19% in the Americas. WFE’s 87 member CCPs and clearing services collectively ensure that risk takers post some $1.3 trillion (equivalent) of resources to back their positions, in the form of initial margin and default fund requirements. WFE exchanges, together with other exchanges feeding into our database, are home to over 51,000 listed companies, and the market capitalisation of these entities is over $110 trillion; around $140 trillion (EOB) in trading annually passes through WFE members (at end 2024). Ms. Sukumar is Vice Chair of IOSCO’s Affiliate Members Consultative Committee and Chair of the AMCC’s Sustainability Taskforce.
Abena Amoah serves as the Managing Director of the Ghana Stock Exchange, bringing extensive experience in capital market operations and strategic development across West Africa.
With a distinguished career in financial services spanning over 18 years, Ms. Amoah has been pivotal in modernizing Ghana's capital markets infrastructure and enhancing investor participation. She holds advanced degrees in Finance and Economics.
At the ASEA Conference 2025, Ms. Amoah will lead discussions on sustainable finance and how African exchanges can drive ESG investment initiatives.
Naseer A. Akhtar is the President and CEO of InfoTech Group, a position he has held since the founding of InfoTech in 1995. As a successful entrepreneur, Naseer A. Akhtar brought InfoTech to profitability and continues to build on that success with double-digit year-on-year growth. He is a sought after speaker, mentor, has served as the Chairman of Pakistan’s industry association P@SHA and has been honored with numerous industry awards and accolades.
Naseer A. Akhtar sets the corporate direction and strategy for all lines of business. He focuses on customers, strategy and innovation. He has been responsible for multimillion-dollar revenue generating product roadmaps that have disrupted major industries like Banking & Capital Markets, GovTech (G2B & G2C Services), RegTech (Regulations, Compliances, Fraud Detection), Utilities, Smart Grids, and Transportation.
Mr. Jean Bosco Iyacu is the Chief Executive Officer since February 2021. Prior to becoming AFR’s CEO, Iyacu served the organization as the Director of Programs for 7 years and has been instrumental in the design and implementation of a diverse range of financial inclusion and financial sector development programs in Rwanda.
Before joining AFR, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the Rwanda Business Development Center (RBDC), an entrepreneurship and business incubation facility. He also served in various leadership capacities in some of Africa’s leading Financial Institutions such as KCB Bank Rwanda Ltd where he was the Regional Business Manager and Head of Retail and SME Banking. He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa.
Iyacu is a Certified Expert in Microfinance, SME Financing, and Inclusive Insurance from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and a Certified Expert in Digital Money from the Digital Frontiers Institute. He has also completed the Harvard Kennedy School’s Executive Course on Rethinking Financial Inclusion.
Cecil Foster is a Founder and the Managing Director of one of the largest lighting, electrical and solar energy distributors in Jamaica, the FosRich Company Limited, which was established in 1993. He has a Degree in Marketing from the University of Technology, with emphasis on business development and marketing.
He is the Vice President of the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association Limited (JMEA) and is the President of the Adventist Laypersons’ Services and Industries (ASI JAMU). Mr. Foster is a member of the King’s House Foundation Board of Governors, and Chairman of the Grounds, Security and Maintenance Sub-Committee of the Board. Mr. Foster was recently elected as a member of the National Council on Technical and Vocation Education and Training.
He is a long-standing member of the Incorporated Master Builders Association of Jamaica and the co-founder of the Good Samaritan Inn, which provides meals three times per week to approximately 600 persons from the inner-city communities of Kingston. The Good Samaritan Inn also serves as an overnight drop in facility for the homeless.
Mr. Foster is a Senior Elder at Andrews Memorial Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Dr. Marlene Street Forrest is the Managing Director of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) and Director of both its subsidiaries. Her mandate is to continue the process of developing the JSE Group and particularly the Exchange, in an atmosphere of transparency and fairness while utilizing appropriate technology in providing the greatest possible efficiencies to the market.
Dr. Street Forrest has a wealth of experience having worked in senior management positions at varying private and public sector organizations here in Jamaica and overseas. Under her stewardship, the JSE became demutualized and the US Denominated Market and the Junior Market were launched. She also spearheaded the Registrar Division of the Jamaica Central Depository (JCSD) when she served as General Manager for this subsidiary of the JSE.
Dr. Street Forrest attended the University of the West Indies, Mona, where she read for the Bachelors Degree in Management Studies and later gained her Masters in Business Administration at the Barry University in Florida.
She is a Certified Business Consultant and a member of the International Association of Professional Business Consultants (IAPO). Dr. Street Forrest stays current with issues that impact the Market such as Cybersecurity, Data Protection and Enterprise Risk Management and is trained in these areas.
In 2016, Dr. Street Forrest was conferred with the honour of the Order of Distinction in the Rank of Commander (CD) in recognition of her outstanding leadership in the growth of the Jamaica Stock Exchange. In that same year she also received the Afroglobal Excellence Award for Global Impact from Canada for exhibiting great leadership, vision, integrity and commitment to excellence.
Hortense MUDENGE is the Chief Executive Officer of the Kigali International Financial Centre, a financial centre facilitating international investment and cross-border transactions in Africa.
KIFC’s mandate is to position Rwanda as a preferred financial jurisdiction for investments in Africa by offering an attractive, competitive, and investor-friendly environment, fully compliant with international best practices.
Hortense is a seasoned management consultant, with over 10 years of experience in advising international development and private-sector clients on business and market development.
Prior to joining KIFC, Hortense worked with Dexis Consulting Group and the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition, as a consultant, providing technical expertise in the delivery of donor-funded investment programs and grant facilities.
Hortense holds an MBA from Hult International Business School in the US and is a graduate of the United States International University- Africa.

Peter Nalitolele serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange, where he has led significant market development initiatives in East Africa's capital markets sector.
With extensive experience in investment banking and capital markets, Mr. Nalitolele has been instrumental in attracting new listings and enhancing market liquidity in Tanzania. He holds advanced qualifications in finance and has contributed to regional market integration efforts.

Mr. Pierre Celestin RWABUKUMBA, a Rwandan national, is the current President of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA), Former Chairman of the East African Securities Exchanges Association (EASEA), and Chief Executive Officer of the Rwanda Stock Exchange Ltd. He is also serving on a number of other boards and advisory boards within the financial sector in Rwanda, hospitality, and manufacturing industries where he serves as a non – Executive Director.
Over the past two decades, he has been involved in different investment projects ranging from manufacturing, Real Estate, Poultry and Agro-processing to Energy production. Mr. Rwabukumba started his career in financial services in New York City more than a two decades ago after graduating from the University of Buffalo (UB), New York in the United States with A bachelor's Degree in Economics.
He worked in different professional positions as a stockbroker, in Compliance and Operations, Institutional Investors' Sales and Advisory before he joined the Central Bank of Rwanda in 2004 to help start the Capital Market Development Project in Rwanda. Mr. Rwabukumba is a seasoned negotiator as he has been instrumental in different negotiations on regional integration of the East African Community and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECAS).
He has served on different Capital Market Committees both at the national and the regional level the latest being the High-Level Task Force negotiating the EAC Monetary Union and the EAC Regional Capital Markets Infrastructure (CMI) Steering Committee where he serves as Chair.
Mr. Rwabukumba is an Alumni of a one-year international post-Graduate Advanced Management Program (AMP) for Executives run jointly by Strathmore Business School of Nairobi, the Lagos Business School, Pan- Atlantic University and IESE Business School, the University of Navara in Barcelona, Spain

Mr. Bwiso is the Chief Executive of the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE). He is an accomplished investment banker with extensive experience in the financial services sector in the areas of asset management, corporate finance and securities trading.
An accountant by training, Mr. Bwiso has over 20 years' experience in the finance sector, where he has held various senior roles with supervisory responsibility in the areas of financial planning, value-driven reporting, business analysis and strategic planning.
Prior to joining the Exchange, Mr. Bwiso was the General Manager Dyer and Blair Investment Bank Uganda. Since taking on the CEO role at USE, Mr. Bwiso has championed several transformative initiatives, including the Exchange's full transition to an automated trading system and the successful completion of its demutualisation in 2017.
He has also overseen several technological innovations and product development such as the Easy Portal, Data Vending and Registry products inter alia, the establishment of the USE Specialist Market and the USE Commodities Exchange. Mr. Bwiso is the current Chairman of the East African Securities Exchanges Association (EASEA), reflecting his regional leadership in deepening capital market integration and innovation.
BRIEF PROFILE OF MR. PETERSON EKOW AFEDZIE
Mr. Afedzie is the former Managing Director of the Ghana Stock Exchange, a former member of the Council (Board) of the Exchange and a lawyer. Mr. Afedzie worked with the Ghana Stock Exchange since its establishment in 1990 for over 32 years and has over 20 years board experience with various institutions. He served on the Boards of the Central Securities Depository (CSD) Ghana LTD., Ghana Investment and Securities Institute Ltd and Venture Capital Trust Fund. Mr. Afedzie was also a member of the governing committees of Ghana Alternative Market (GAX) and Ghana Fixed Income Market (GFIM). Mr. Afedzie was the Chairman of the West Africa Capital Markets Integration Council and the Co-Chair of the Africa Regional Committee of the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) with sole responsibility over the West African Sub-Committee. He is the former Vice President of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) and was a member of the Executive Committee of ASEA. He currently serves on the council of the Institute of Directors, Ghana.
He has been associated with many transformational projects at the Ghana Stock Exchange. He was instrumental in molding the GSE and making it relevant to Ghana's financial sector. His zeal to succeed and keep the beacon lit reflected in the planning, coordination and implementation of many transformational projects such as the automation of the trading, clearing and settlement systems, the establishment of the Depository as well as the creation of the Ghana Fixed Income Market (GFIM) and the Ghana Alternative Market (GAX). His diligent drafting of the rules that govern the Exchange cannot be overemphasized. During his tenure as the Managing Director, the GSE was admitted to full membership of the International Capital Market Association as well as the prestigious World Federation of Exchanges. His efficient leadership is further evidenced by the GSE recording its highest net profit after tax in its history under his watch.
He was educated at the University of Ghana, Legon, Ghana where he obtained a master's degree in business administra3on, (MBA) in 1989, a Master of Arts degree (MA) in Economic Policy Management in 2010 and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Agriculture in 1985. He also holds a bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from Mountcrest University College and a Qualifying Cer3ficate in law from the Ghana School of Law. He is a member of the Ghana Bar Associaon, and a full member of the Chartered Instute of Marke3ng Ghana (CIMG).
Mr. Akin Adigun, CFA works as a Principal Investment Officer- Capital Markets at the African Development Bank (AfDB). He has more than fifteen years' experience working in international financial institutions across capital markets, development finance, investment banking, research, and portfolio management.
His work at the AfDB includes promoting innovative solutions and product offerings for the development of efficient capital markets and deepening financial integration.

Mrs. Akane Zoukpo Sanankoua is the Division Manager of the Capital Markets Development Division at the African Development Bank Group in charge of private sector and public sector capital markets development transactions across Africa using the range of AfDB instruments. Akane has been instrumental in expanding the Bank's growing partial credit guarantee interventions in support of sustainable financing mobilization for the Bank's clients. Akane joined the Bank in 2014 and has served in several roles within the Capital Markets Development Division, most recently as Chief Investment Officer responsible for leading a broad range of African capital markets development operations and activities.
Akane started her career in investment banking in 2007 at Citigroup, where she worked in the Debt Capital Markets department based in London. At Citi, she provided interest rate and currency risk hedging solutions for European corporates. Akane holds a Master's in Public Administration (MPA) from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and a Master's of Science (MSc) in Management - specializing in Finance, from ESCP Europe.

Akane est en charge des opérations de développement des marchés de capitaux du secteur privé et du secteur public à travers l'Afrique en utilisant la gamme d'instruments de la BAD. Akane a joué un rôle déterminant dans l'expansion des interventions croissantes de garantie partielle de crédit de la Banque en appui à la mobilisation de financements durables pour les clients de la Banque. Akane a rejoint la Banque en 2014 et a occupé plusieurs postes au sein de la Division du développement des marchés des capitaux, plus récemment celui de chargée en chef d'investissement, chargée de mener un large éventail d'opérations et d'activités de développement des marchés des capitaux africains.

Mr. Tsheole is the Chief Executive Officer of the Capital Market Authority (CMA) Rwanda, responsible for providing strategic visionary leadership in the development, regulation and supervision of capital markets, collective investment schemes, commodity exchange and related contracts, warehouse receipts system, and other market segments.
He is a seasoned Financial Markets expert with over 24 years of cumulative experience, having worked for the Central Bank of Botswana and Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE). He was appointed CEO of CMA Rwanda in May 2024, having previously served as CEO of BSE from January 2016 to May 2024 and Deputy CEO since February 2014.
Bob J. Karina is one of Africa's most respected and active investment bankers, at the forefront of capital markets transformation across the continent. For over 25 years, he has been shaping East Africa's financial architecture - founding and scaling institutions, modernising exchanges, and advising boards, governments, and sovereign agencies on how to mobilise capital for growth.
As the Founder & Chairman of Faida Investment Bank (Kenya) and Managing Director of Faida Securities Rwanda, both institutions continue to deliver landmark transactions, widen investor participation, and mobilise capital for ambitious issuers across the region. As Immediate Past Chairman of the Rwanda Stock Exchange (2020-2025) and of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (2006-2015), Bob is recognised as a governance leader with a unique cross-border perspective on risk, compliance, and sustainable market development.
As a real time change-maker, Bob continues to drive the digitisation of markets, deepen cross-border listings, and strengthen governance frameworks that attract long-term capital into Africa. His influence spans from designing policies that power integration, to advising boards on structuring growth capital, to working with governments on financing critical infrastructure.
As an internationally sought-after thought leader, Bob has twice addressed the AIM Congress in Abu Dhabi, engaging global exchange leaders on Africa's integration and investment agenda; and is also an active member of the Institute of Directors (Kenya) and a Founder Member & Fellow of ICFA, combining boardroom credibility with technical depth.
Holding an MSc in Corporate Finance from the University of Liverpool, Bob operates at the intersection of vision and execution- actively shaping Africa's next chapter of financial growth. Dr. Islam Abdel Azim Azzam is a distinguished financial regulator and academic with extensive experience in capital markets oversight, insurance regulation, and non-banking financial services. He served as Deputy Chairman of Egypt's Financial Regulatory Authority from January 2021 to August 2025, overseeing capital markets, insurance, and non-banking financial sectors.
Previously, he served as Advisor to the Chairman of the Mortgage Finance Authority (2007-2009), Assistant to the Chairman of FRA (2003-2005), Managing Director of the SME Investment Fund "Bedaya," and Advisor to the Minister of Investment. Dr. Azzam began his career as an Economic Analyst in the Market Surveillance Department at the FRA.
Academically, Dr. Azzam is Professor of Finance at the American University in Cairo (AUC), where he chaired the Finance Department and the Graduate Studies Program in Finance from 2005 to 2021. He has held visiting professorships at prestigious institutions including Stellenbosch University (South Africa), London School of Economics, and University of California, Irvine.
He serves on multiple boards including the Anti-Money Laundering Unit, Egyptian Arab Land Bank (Chair of Risk Committee), and various corporate boards across different sectors. Dr. Azzam holds a Ph.D. in Economics from UC Irvine with specialization in econometrics, economic forecasting, and monetary policy, along with degrees from University of Pennsylvania, AUC, and Cairo University.
Dr. Hosea Kili, MBS is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and Group Managing Director/CEO of CPF Group. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK), Fellow Member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), and active member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).
Currently serving as President of the Association of Pension Trustees & Administrators of Kenya (APTAK) and the Pack Hunters Club (PHC), Dr. Kili is also a Council member of the Africa Social Security Association (ASSA). He previously served as a Non-Executive Director at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) and is a Council member of the Kenya National Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT).
A recipient of numerous national honors, Dr. Kili was awarded the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) in 2025 and the Presidential Order of Grand Warrior (OGW) in 2011.
